They wanted ice cream and didn’t get it
Short of giving the oval office to John McCain I can’t think of a thing the President could do to make the Republicans stop throwing fits like spoiled children who were refused when they demanded ice cream.

Obama can act like a President who was given a mandate and a majority in Congress by the American people.
I agree that the President should be a tad more firm with the Party of No, but I also remember how horrified we all were with Bush's rubber-stamp congress.
President Obama's way takes longer. It is more fraught with possibilites for problems, BUT... I believe it is the way the Founding Fathers wanted it. A constant struggle for multi-partisanship, Doing things the RIGHT way, not just the EASY way.
I believe President Obama is giving Washington DC a lesson in statesmanship and civics that is long overdue. It's certain to be frustrating to those of us who wanted change so desperately. However, as every parent of a 2 year old knows, "Not right now" doesn't necessarily mean "Never".
I think we all became conditioned to 2-year-old behavior over the last 8 years, and need to work on returning to who we were and what we believed in BEFORE Monica got down on her knees.
The more adult we act, the more childish the opposition looks, and the less likely they'll be relevent in future elections, IMNSHO
I'm afraid 'not right now' is going to turn into 'never' if he continues to placate the lying and sheer obstruction for obstruction's sake of the republicans.
That party has shown over the past 8 years and even more clearly since the election that it is unfit to govern.
President Obama needs to stage an intervention, and needs to do it yesterday.
I'm hearing that there are some stirrings -- at last -- that the dems may just do the whole thing by themselves.
when "bi-partisanship" turns into wheedling on one side and foot-stomping on the other -- we're in trouble.
